Boost your immune system

A quick hello,

Have you been feeling under the weather lately? Seems like everyone I talk with is fighting off some illness or just getting over it myself included. It's just that time of the year.

So, I wanted to drop a quick note with some suggestions for boosting your immune system.

Cook with lots of herbs.

Herbs have a ton of natural antimicrobial properties making them great for fighting off viral and bacterial infections.

  1. oregano - is a powerful germ fighter
  2. sage
  3. rosemary
  4. thyme
  5. garlic & onion are also great

Making a good pot of soup filled with germ fighting herbs is a must when you're feeling something coming on.

Raw honey is a powerhouse when it comes to fighting those germs.

Herbal teas

Herbs hold a lot of healing properties. Some good ones for boosting the immune system are Echinacea, Elderberry or Licorice Root.

Add a touch of raw honey and you have power in a cup.

Of course, boosting vitamin C is a must.

Citrus fruits are packed with vitamin C, oranges, lemon, grapefruit, golden kiwi but also veggies like kale, broccoli and brussels sprouts.

One of my favorite things to make and keep on hand in my frig is lemon honey elixir.

There are so many variations of this elixir. So, use what you have or what you like and keep it in the refrigerator for when you need it.

BOUNTIFUL SUMMERTIME I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR! I have to admit I wait all year for summertime. The green trees, the warm sun, hanging out with friends and family. Oh yah, and all the fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. I am a big fan of eating what's in season, so summertime has a lot to offer. Fresh local produce in the supermarkets, local farms and farmers markets. All look so inviting. Of course, you can always try your hand at growing some of your own. I have been growing an...

We almost lost Max

Meet Max, This is Max, he is almost thirteen years old and an absolute sweetheart. I just wanted to share with you what we have been going through with him for the last several weeks. Max developed a bump on his head, not very big but I noticed it. After a couple days it got bigger and opened into a sore. Over the next week it just kept getting bigger, so I took him to the veterinarian to get checked out. There was no obvious infection, like pus or fever, but our vet decided to start a round...

Issue #1 CAN IT HEAL? This is the question my mom just asked me. I was a bit surprised and confused at first, I guess I assumed that I have said "the body's ability to heal itself is remarkable" many times. I truly believe that, and I have seen evidence of it many times. She was speaking particularly about Diverticulitis. She has struggled with digestive issues for many years. So, when she was diagnosed with diverticulitis years ago, it was no surprise to her. She tried to stick with the...
